Hobbies

There are many hobbies and activities out there that kind of pique my interest. As of right now, I feel that I have a few hobbies but I definitely think that I have room to have more. Here are a few that I would like to take up in the near future.

1) Reading for leisure. Aside from a few books that I like, I'm not a person who usually reads just for the heck of it. I'll read for assignments and things like that. But aside from books like the Harry Potter series or the Hunger Games trilogy, I don't really just read for fun. If a book doesn’t do a good job of capturing my attention at the very beginning of it, I usually quit reading it. What are some books that you have enjoyed reading?

2) Biking. I have always liked going on bike rides, but I haven't really gone on one in a while and I think that this would be a very fun hobby to have. Generally, unless it is super hot or super cold, I like being outside and seeing things in nature. If I were to go biking, I would be able to spend time outside and see things that I might not see if I were to not bike.

3) Surfing. If I ever live near the ocean, I would like to learn how to surf. It looks really hard but it looks really fun. In fact, one of my bosses (Suli) that works for computer services used to live in Hawaii and he would go surfing every morning. He said it was really fun and that he enjoyed it very much. Along with surfing, there are some other water sports that I think would also be cool to learn how to do. Some other these other things include windsurfing and jet skiing and other recreational water activities like that.

4) Snowboarding. I think I would be really fun to become a proficient snowboarder and or skier, if that is a word. I wish that somehow I could just magically become good though because wrecking in the cold snow doesn't sound like too much fun to me. I don't really like the thought of falling in the snow because if you haven’t already  noticed, it’s pretty cold.

5) Foosball and other games similar. This is kind of weird and it is already somewhat part of my current hobbies and I'm pretty good if I do say so myself. I like foosball because I think it is really fun and I enjoy it because I enjoy competition. And more importantly, I enjoy winning competitions.

6) Golfing. I've gone golfing a few times and I’ll admit that I kinda stink,in fact, I doubt I could hit anywhere near par on any of the holes, but I think there is a kind of calmness when you go golfing that I like.

Anyway, these are some of the hobbies that I would like to participate in sometime later on in life or now. Do you guys have any hobbies that you love to do?

  1. I think that it is great that most of your hobbies are anticipated to be in the out doors. Recently I have been wanting to get outdoors more often also. Now as for your book hobby, I also share a limited interest for books that start off ridiculously boring. I would recommend that you read 'Magical Thinking' by Augusten Burroughs. This book was given to me in a hard back form by my sister after she finished college. It starts off strong and is written form a college student's perspective. I enjoyed it very much because of its relevancy to a young man's decision of what he wants to be in society.

  3. I really don't enjoy reading. Pretty much everyone in my family does, and I'm somewhat of an oddball. I think I'd rather sit down, and simply reflect on my own thoughts, rather than read a book. I've always been intrigued by surfing, and it's always been something I wish I could do. While I realize there's still time in my life to start new hobbies such as surfing or even snowboarding, I honestly doubt I'll get around to doing such things. I would say hanging out with friends is one of my favorite hobbies, but I definitely love working with technology as well.
